I really like the interaction in lor, both players can play cards every turn and disrupt each other all the time. But I think they have different strengths and weaknesses. I come from mtgso I can't compare to hearthstone. It can make some regions feel really outdated, but I suspect that will be partially resolved from the next major set since it won't be adding a new region. A region can just get absolutely shafted by the current release schedule with, for example, Freljord not getting new cards in like over 9 months or something while most regions have gotten new cards in the past 4-5. One other issue that I think has a higher chance of being resolved is their release schedule. Control is also usually left by the wayside, and even now with a lot of control decks in the meta the vast majority of them are confined to the 1-2 regions that can properly support the slower playstyle (6/8 meta control decks are Shadow Isles according to this video). The systems for interaction are great, but for me a big issue is that it often feels like, despite having good systems, the best decks are ones designed to ignore interacting - over the last year we've had a lot of elusive, rally / free attack, and spellshield + overwhelm / elusive decks take over the meta due to how difficult they are to interact with yet those types of decks seemingly continue to have more support printed for them quite often. The game is very unit-centric which some people probably really enjoy, but I think it can lead to decks feeling more similar and doesn't support people who like spell-based decks very well in most metas. Personally I think LoR has some great systems, but the design and balance of the game has made it hard for me to find decks I actually enjoy playing for longer periods of time so I usually just have no interest in playing the game a couple weeks to a month after each set comes out. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits. /r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
